Following on with our

‘Meet the Volunteers’, this is Max.

Max lives in beautiful Queensland, Australia and this is his story.

My journey with OPR began with a simple Google search in July 2007. I had recently acquired Photoshop CS2 and I was looking for information on photo restoration and OPR looked like a pretty good place to learn some skills and to help people at the same time. Having retired to what we considered our small part of Paradise, we found ourselves facing what has been a 13 year drought, so plans of wild, abandoned gardening and self-sufficiency went out the window and I found I had all this spare time to go along with the restoration idea.

I have found it to be immensely rewarding to be able to return to their owners, photos which are obviously treasured. The driving thought is always that this is perhaps the only tangible memory these people have.

An added bonus is that OPR members are a pretty nice bunch…..
