Where do volunteers come from?
Yeah, this post will make it painfully obvious that I’m running short of things to say. So, I thought I would provide some “fun” (fun if you like useless trivia) facts about where our volunteers come from.
*Disclaimer: These facts are not completely accurate. Not all of our volunteers have told us where they are from. The following information comes from the volunteers I have location information for.
We have approximately 80 international (non-U.S.) volunteers representing 23 countries. They include Austraila, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Guam, Greece, Holland, Iceland, Italy, Ireland, Macedonia, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, Phillipines, Portugal, Russia, Scotland, Spain and the United Kingdom. Canada has the most at 25 volunteers, followed by the UK at 19 and Australia at 14.
In the U.S., 43 states are represented by OPR volunteers. Virginia has the most at 26 (not including OPR management). New York has 17 and Florida has 15 volunteers.
According to my records, we don’t have any volunteers in Deleware, North or South Dakota, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont and West Virginia. You all need to step up and be recognized.
It’s also noteworthy that we have around 20 volunteers who live in the Hurricane Katrina affected region. Including several from New Orleans.
At OPR, we are continuing to strive for world dominance in the realm of charity non-profit photo restoration. If you haven’t already, let me know where you’re from at [email protected].
