Help Wanted

0

As you all know, OPR is constantly growing, reorganizing and moving forward in its mission. Because of this, the OPR 5 (it’s 5 now since John took on such a large role with the website and forums) are looking for members of the volunteer network who maybe interested in taking on greater roles of responsibility.

We’re looking for people that are qualified, have the time and the desire to take up work in one or more of the following areas:

Image Distribution: This is what Mike and Becky do now. We’re looking for individuals who are technically proficient with using the Internet, who possess strong organizational skills and perhaps more importantly have the free time to look after the OPR galleries on Photoshelter. Our main goal is to speed up the image distribution and upload process.

Quality Control: Every completed restoration goes through this phase. This job entails comparing the restoration to the damaged original and verifying that the restoration meets OPR guidelines. Images are also prepped for printing at this phase. Volunteers for this job need to be exceptionally skilled at restorations, possess a critical eye and an attention to detail.

In both of these cases, anyone wanting to do either of these jobs will also need to have good people skills as you will be interacting with almost every member of the volunteer network. Volunteers taking on these rolls will be dealing with a tremendous amount of daily correspondance with other volunteers.

It should be noted that we are looking for several people for these roles.

The idea behind this is to have other volunteers become more active in the organization as well as helping to free OPR management so that we can focus on fundraising, copy-work runs and attending to other organizational details.

To “apply”, please drop me an email at [email protected] with a brief outline of your skills, what you’ve done so far in OPR (please list restoration examples) and which job you’re “applying” for. Please remember, OPR is a volunteer organization. The only compensation that we can offer at this time is a virtual pat on the back, your own OPR email address and maybe a free t-shirt.

Dave
