Hey everyone! what do you use for monitor calibration? I've never done mine but I'm going to be stuck with an Alienware laptop on my travels this winter and the colors are awful on it so I have to do something or cart this big ole monitor with me and plug her in...
Needs to be user friendly, I'm clueless.

Lynn, I have a monitor with hardware calibration (NEC) but it only works on Nec monitors that have this feature.

You might want to try this software calibrtor called Calibrize, it'll work on your laptop, is user friendly and free to use.

Wow thanks Hannie i'll definately try that.  It doesn't have to be absolutely perfect, it's not like I'm doing commercial printing or anything.
Thanks.

Hannie I tried downloading Calibrize and got an error message :(

<Error>
<Code>NoSuchKey</Code>
<Message>The specified key does not exist.</Message>

</Error>

I have windows 10.. I'll do a bit more digging..

Lynnya, I used the link from Hannie and got the same error response as yours. I managed to find another site for download.

After installing it, it did not work on my computer.

Bummer, I know of another software but then you need a measuring device (that you place on your screen during calibration).  There is a work around to use it without the measuring device but I have not tried it myself. The download page has all that information.

I'm a Mac user and in the distant past I had Monaco EZ color with a colorimeter to calibrate my displays. My current BenQ monitors have software and I've given up on the colorimeter.

If you haven't already sorted it out, possibly one of the options mentioned in this article would do?
