Hi Everyone,

I have just added some more photos to Jonas' Gallery. I was almost tempted to pick some that didn't look so hard, but then I thought: No, this will teach Jonas a lesson to leave his gallery in my hands and go on vacation. Wait till he sees what I have left him.  >:D

Most of the KnopicS will make you pause and think you would rather not since there is so much discoloration that is hiding the photo. Often what happens when you see photos with the orange and red smeared over them; you can look at the blue channel and see a good portion of the photo intact. This is true on a majority of these photos. I will try to find the time to post links to how to work on them. Post one of these to the Forum and we will work through it together.

On a side note, it would be great if everyone would try to help Bambi get the ShepherdB21 wedding photos done out of her gallery. These are from the Joplin run and the family has been waiting a long time to get them back. All the other photos you see in the galleries are from the Hummelstown run.

This summer has been brutal for a lot of you and sitting down at the computer and doing restores may have lost some of its charm. Plus, I it's easy to get burned out and it helps to take a break. I just want to thank all of you for really doing a great job. I can't thank enough all the work the inner team members do behind the scenes everyday.

The icing on the cake comes when you hear back as I did last week from a lady who had a chance to see one of her photos in progress:

QuoteI'm amazed at what can be done with pictures. Please pass my sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff.

Atlantis

At first glance two of those Sheperd weddingphoto's left look very much alike.
Or is that just me wearing wrong glasses?
The only way to get better is to figure out what I did wrong.

Good catch Atlantis! This is a duplication and I will let Bambi remove one of the two. I have a feeling that the damage is so great that it maybe a non-restore. We do not have any good photos of the wedding dress and you can't lift something off another person's wedding photo. I may need to talk to the family and see where to go on this one.

Thanks,

Margie

Hi Everyone,

As promised I found some helpful links on using the blue channel for these types of photos.

(change the mode on the layer to "luminosity."

This is where I love the use of short cut keys:
•   Select All = Crtl A (pc) or Cmd A (mac)
•   Copy = Crtl A or Cmd A
•   Paste = Crtl V or Cmd V

And another way to approach, but this is more work than the above:

The duplicate has been handled. The picture was listed twice with two file names, but it is indeed the same. Thank you, Marga.
