What should I do with the arm?  Blue channel is okay but
not enough.   Any suggestions would be very welcomed.
Also, PLEASE help me figure out what to do with that
little tray on the table.   Oh, and another thing......how
can I keep everything from looking so 2 dimensional?
In case you couldn't tell, I'm a newbie and a beginner and
decided for some reason to tackle a difficult one.

Hey Mary. You DID pick a toughie! What I did was take the original, run levels and curves. Then selected the blue channel and copied it above the original background. Set the blend mode to luminosity. I took some good skin color and painted in her arm on a new blank layer. Also widened her mouth. The blue channel also shows the highlights in her hair. I think its more brown than black. Don't obsess too much over the stuff on the table. This IS very rough.

Hi Kiska,
Boy I really feel like a newbie now.  How did you do
that so fast?  I've been working on it forever.
Anyway, I should know this but how do you
copy a channel above the original.
I really appreciate your help.

Hope this is clear. Holla if you have questions. Well, I forgot the instructions!

1 Switch to the channels palette
2 Click the blue channel to activate
3 Select all/copy
4 Click the rgb channel to activate all/paste
Return to the layers palette. The blue channel should be on top of the background. Change the blend mode to luminosity.
