Hey everyone :-),

I just wanted to show of my latest restore to you, but also announce to you, that it's going to be hard for me to properly finish it, as I'm going to Portugal with my school for the week.

Before:
After:

For this one I used my more or less standard approach by splitting the frequencies (http://www.operationphotorescue.org/forum/index.php/topic,2687.0.html), healing on the HIGH and painting on a new layer in between HIGH and LOW.
I then used some dodge & burn on a 50% gray soft light layer and did some saturation and tone correction (to help me see where I had to work, I used the techniques outlined here: http://www.operationphotorescue.org/forum/index.php/topic,2822.0.html).
The last thing for me was to get a little more out of the face of the woman on the left. I selected her face on the background layer, copied/pasted it and used the "Filter"-"Other"-"High Pass" to extract the information I needed. The blending mode was set to "Linear Light" and fill opacity to 50%.
I used a mask to get rid of the damage again but keep the contours.

As I said, I'm away for a week now, so maybe one of you wants to finish of with the image (of course I'd be happier to finish of myself, but I don't know if you want to wait for me so long)?
In that case, here's the large edited version: http://www.abload.de/img/desotell_11_11_3pt5x3p09z2.jpg
Best regards,

Hi Jonas,

Looks like you picked another fun one!  :wow: I think you have done a great job and the only thing I would change is not to extend the woman's shoulder as far as you have. I would also have her shoulder come up just a little and not slope down so much. The way her hair falls on your right really makes her neck look funny, but that's how it is in the photo. Changing her shoulder and arm coming down will make her look more in proportion.

That sounds great about your trip to Portugal, take lots of picture. What course are you taking. Have fun!

Hi Margie,

yes, I'm always choosing the most funny ones so I won't get bored at any point of time ;-).

You're right about her shoulder (obviously I should take some anatomy-lessons sooner or later :-)) and I corrected it by simply painting in the new shoulder and background and adding a little noise to the area.

Indeed, Portugal was quite fun, but unfortunately I didn't take any photo at all because it was simply too hot and we had to walk around for hours and hours, so I decided to leave my camera at the hotel.
Probably I'll get some photos from my class mates though :-).

Edit: Seems like everyone is happy by now, so I'll upload it :-)
Thanks, Margie!
Best regards,
Jonas
