Welcome to Operation Photo Rescue's Volunteer Forum!

Thank you for volunteering for Operation Photo Rescue. In this forum you will be able to meet and interact with other OPR Volunteers from around the globe. Feel free to assist others and provide constructive feedback to those looking for assistance with difficult restorations.

It will be important to make sure that you do not choose a photo restoration that is above your skill level.

Here is how we define 'difficulty levels' for photo restorations:

Easy
Very little damage to any parts of the body. Most of the damage is located in backgrounds or areas of the picture that include very little detail.

Moderate
Some damage to parts of the body, but there’s enough information in other areas to draw from. Very little to none reconstruction of any body parts. More extensive damage to backgrounds and areas other than the main subject of the picture.

Difficult
Extensive damage to the main subject and/or to a majority of the overall image. Faces and body elements would require major reconstruction. Most of the time the reconstructed photo will still show significant damage.

It looks great with those few revisions, great work! :up2:

Regarding the file size, as long as you don't downsize your photo or keep re-saving as a jpg any reduction in size is only a result of removing the garbage, it takes a lot of pixels to represent all the damage, I had one 8x10 that went from 4.25 Mb down to 1.35 Mb just by removing the gunk.
