I think you're close, but she looks inflated with the sweater sleeves a bit off (as best I can make them out).

Here are a couple of similar (ish) sweaters with a big asymmetrical collar, although the knit pattern in these examples is different. You can see one edge of the collar and also the arm seam on her right (left of photo) which should give us enough to rough something out. I think it is a big, oversize sweater, not a neatly fitted one (possibly 80s?) which does make it easier to fudge :)

So I'm not 100% happy with this, but here's what I think is going on with the arms. Her left arm is over the back or arm of the chair she's sitting in, and with this big oversize sweater, it makes a big bundle of odd shapes.

If you stick with darkening the outside edges, I think you should skip the foreground sweater - it's a flash photo and very bright there.

To get knitted texture onto the surface of the invented parts of the sweater, it might work better to get a photo of knitting and use the healing brush to apply that to the colors you paint onto the layer - trying to clone when you have so little to source will be really hard :)

Hope this helps

Thanks Jo Ann... yeah.. odd shapes is right.. I can feel this arm thing is gonna be difficult.. I'll work on it and see what happens.

Okay.. I know the sweater is not like the original but I'm going with the premise that everyone is looking at her face and forgetting what the sweater was.. how is this looking.

I believe that there's a person under that sweater, and I'm not sure what more you could ask :)

You get my vote!

Beautiful work Lynn. Just a thought ... maybe lighten up the hair a bit and tone down the red? I did a quick Auto Curves on the original and then tweaked your latest. See what you think.
