Dave Nagel - photographer, artist, etc..  For those not familiar with his work, here's a link that you may find useful.  Of special interest to the OPR community would be the various Brush Set downloads.  There are several sets of unique brushes for recreating hair and even a few that produce skin-like textures.
While there, check out some of his tutorials, as well.
