Hi Kris,

Lovely restore, great photo!

What if you bring back some of the shading that was there before by using the original photo as a luminosity overlay, hide all and paint back her face.  You can then lower/raise opacity to your liking.

Hi Hannie, I tried it.  What do you think?

if i go with less opacity than this it becomes washed out again...

When it comes to increasing saturation, I find using the LAB color space to be easier and better than using some of the RGB color separation techniques. It takes a bit of getting used to. Here are a couple of video tutorials that will help you understand the basics:

This tutorial will teach you about painting with LAB layers:

If any of you subscribe to lynda.com there's a very comprehensive tutorial that runs about 5 or 6 hours. I'm about 2/3 of the way through it. I started watching it because I was having trouble reading (and rereading) Dan Masrgulis' Photoshop LAB Color.   :funny:

It's a fabulous color space and I'm so glad I'm learning about it. Good luck!

Kris, looking good!

Judy, nice tip, especially the part about lynda.com for the tutorial on Lab. I love her courses. I have Dan Masrgulis' Photoshop LAB Color and also another on professional Photoshop color color correction. The first one is not the easiest book to get through and then what gets me is one chapter you do an exercise that is impossible just to prove a point. One of his testers for the book was none too happy.  ;D
