Best way to remove the bright area?

I tried some techniques for adjusting the bright area without success, any ideas for fix that.

This is what you can try if you use Photoshop. Make two separate copies of your image. Make your curves and levels adjustments on one layer to lighten the outside, darker part of the image and the second layer to darken the light center area. When you work on them individually, you can make sure your colors and light levels will match more closely when blended. Add a mask to top layer so you can paint in your changes and blend the two layers.

If you're unsure about using masks on your layers, there are quite a few tutorials you can find online that explain the technique. There might even be tutorials on this site...but I'm new and haven't explored everything yet.
