First restore. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Wow, great job on your first restore! That damage around the edges can be more difficult than they look at first. Most of the picture looks just like the original. Good job.

The repaired part of the father's arm is a little softer than the area closer to his wrist. Rather than trying to sharpen it (our printers do not like us to sharpen the pictures). You might try selecting the undamaged part of the arm, Copy to a New Layer. Use Free Transform>Warp or Puppet Warp (CS5 only) to make it fit nicely over the damage. Then you can use Opacity, and maybe Blend Modes (Normal, Soft Light, or Luminosity?), to make it match properly.

I'm sure other members will have other techniques to suggest. That's just what I'd try next.

Thats actually how I got the arm this far. I will go back and do some more. At least I now know I'm on the right track...

I'd darken the baby's hair a little bit too as it still looks a bit hazy?
