Help on background

I still have a lot to do, but re: the background, my first inclination is replace the background with a solid color, but I haven't seen many studio photos with solid backgrounds. Would the second background be better?

Tori, you can use the spotted bg. Make a new layer set to color. Sample the good color and paint down the spots. New layer, make a patch of texture with the healing brush set to pattern ( I have a couple of textures). Then change to the regular healing  brush and borrow from the texture you just applied. THEN, when you get close to the hair/shirt use the clone stamp, about medium opacity, and build up the background.
