Recover Detail

Anyone have any suggestions about recovering some detail from the face?

Multiply on the luminosity layer doesn't help much nor does selective burning

The picture doesn't leave much.  You were able to bring it back to life. I think that the owner will love it and they are the ones that carry the memories.     :)

Hi Athol.

If you look closely at the original there is a hint of eyes, nose and eyebrows there.  I tried to use the burn tool to bring them out.

A lighter touch with dodge and burn as you suggested Hannie did the trick. It is on its way
