Hi everyone, I could use a little help.  I am pretty happy with the restoral, however, I don't know what to do about the darkness and discoloration on the baby's left hand.  Anything else you notice about this picture would be great to hear too.

Thanks.

Ron.

Hi Ron, so you should , happy with this one I mean.  Great job you did cleaning up the mess and print all over the baby's jacket.
You can clean/dodge the hands a little and then add a color layer and pick color from a clean part of the hand.  I would also desaturate some of the red in the fingers and around the mouth area.

I added a new layer set to color. Sampled some 'good' color from his face. Med. opacity brush on the red of his hands to bring it down.

Then curves to lighten the dark areas.

Finally, a gentle smudge to blend the colors.

Thanks everyone, I took your advice and the hands look better, they were probably the hardest part of the restoration.  I also added a hue/saturation layer, got the hands looking better there, then used a layer mask so I didn't adjust the rest of the picture.
