Here are some incredible photos from my sister-in-law's friend. Her house was completely under water (at least up to the roof) and the force of the water completely ripped apart the house.

It sounds like they were able to get their stuff moved out before the house was flooded, but can you imagine going back to seeing this? On top of that, many families in the area are farmers and have up to 100% loss in crops, equipment and property. Can you imagine the loss?

Read her account of her first trip back to her house here: http://stephaniejill.blogspot.com/2008/06/first-visit-to-house.html.

How awful to come back and see your home destroyed like that. :(

I really feel sorry for these folks. They all seem to be having a tough time. I hope they can get things cleaned up and back on track soon. I have some relatives in the area and have not heard how they are doing.

The pictures were so sad to look at but the last link that told of her trip back to their home was heartbreaking.

Kevin, what a sad story, I hope it won't be long before they will be able to fix their home.  My heart goes out to them.
David, I hope your relatives are OK...
