From what I remember, Mr. Horton's father is in this photo, although he didn't know where he was located.  Considering the hundreds of soldiers in the photo, it is not surprising.

We normally take our photos on a first in, first out basis, but there is something about this particular photo from Winona that affected us all, and since Candy is our military specialist, I just passed it on straight to her for restoration.

So Candy, since Gen. Patton and his dog are in this photo, did they cooperate and help you out on this restoration?!!

Yes, Chris, he did.  And I watched the movie as I did the restoration with George C. Scott.  Nothing like that first speach to start your work out right.

General Patton reminded me that his boots were always shined and not a speck of dust was to be on his uniform and I answered, "Yes, Sir!". What else could I say?  As for Willie, short for William the Conqueror, well.  he's a bit of a character but he loves his master and was very comfortable sitting in the middle of all those soldiers, though he is a bit of a chicken around other dogs at times! :o)

I picked up the Patton pano today, and my local photographer, Craig Hergert, had this printed as a Giclee print, which means he made a very high end, fade resistant print for the photo owner.  It was certainly a kind gesture that was above and beyond the duty of anything I had imagined.  Candy did an amazing job on this photo, and I would never have guessed that this photo had been damaged.  Candy, I can only hope to someday have as much talent as you do!

by the way...this panoramic photo is 55 inches long, so it was hard to get a close up of the photo while still keeping the entire photo within the viewing frame.

Is there a way that we all (or at least those that want it) can get a High Resolution photo of this. Maybe a Photobucket link, or something. Not that I want it for anything other than myself, or would that be plagiarizing?

Hi David,

Chris is off for the weekend, so it may be a little while before you get an answer back.
