Hi,

Seem to have been taking forever on this last batch, haven't been too well for the last few days, capped of with a 600 Km round trip to Brisbane on Tuesday to spend 20 minutes with a cardiac specialist, the joys of country living.

Anyhow back on the job and got a bit done today, have a peep at this one and see what you think.

Hi Max!

I'm sorry to hear your not feeling great,  I imagine having to go for such a long ride doesn't add to the feeling of wellbeing!
Hope that you feel better!
Your restoration is looking great!  I tried to fiddle with the tone and is very hard to adjust without getting that washed out look.  Than you have to burn/paint and isn't always the best solution either.
Maybe a little blurring on the outline of the silhouettes against the background.  Also a little toning down of his forehead and nose and a very slight blurring of his head to match the girl more.  A little noise or darkening of the background maybe?
There is only one more little thing I would like to mention.
Maybe you can compare the reconstructed hair/side of the lady with the original through pasting the original layer in your restored photo.  I think the shape of her hair and face has changed a little?

By now you must be getting so tired of all my picks so I will be quiet now.

Sorry to hear you are not well Max, hope you're better soon. Its coming along really well. I'd tone the guys forehead down a bit and maybe drag the outside corner of her right eye down a bit?

Thanks for your help Hannie & Tassie, made a few changes and this is the final result.

This is my next, snuck it in here, should be in the easy section but couldn't be bothered starting a new thread.

Nice clean up, Max.
I hope the old ticker is ok mate.

It looks great Max. Is it my eyes or is the repaired handprint one crooked? I have been out working in the sun all day so it might be me.  :D

Thanks Ray and Tess, yes Tess, you aren't seeing things, the text block is out of kilter, I originally straightened the image using the lines at the bottom, the rest of it has been corrected in the next version.

Isn't that a lovely little verse?

Max, you are the document master!   :wnw:
What a lovely little verse!  I saved it, even though my grandchildren are past the "little hand prints" stage.
If it is possible to straighten the image it would be great.

Don't know if y'all know this tip. It's how to nudge a rotate transform a hair at a time.

1 Activate the box next to the angle symbol

2 Put transform arrows on corner of image in rotate position

3 Hit up/down arrow keys
  UP= clockwise
  DOWN=counter clockwise

Lovely job on both counts, Max
Keep healthy :)

Ausimax

Hannie, yes I straightened out the body text, looks better now.  :)

Thanks Kiska, I didn't know that trick, I think there are a lot of tricks in PS that I don't know, my trouble is remembering them, and when I save them, where I put them. :-[

Thanks Ratz.

Good morning!

I wanted to let you all know another easy and precise way to straighten an image.  Use the Measure Tool, which is hidden under the eyedropper.  Start by clicking at one end of a straight angled line then clicking somewhere near the opposite edge of the same line so you have an underscore that follows the incorrect angle.  Go to Image, Rotate, Arbitrary, and the arbitrary menu will give you the angle to which you need to adjust.  Click okay, and your image will be straight.

I shall, however, keep in mind your method, kiska, which is new to me and could be very useful. Thanx. Love Photoshop!

Max, your restorations are, as usual, fantastic!

And oh, don't you love those "senior moments."  Make list; put list in special place so you won't lose it; forget where special place is.  Find list 6 months later when looking for another "lost" list!

Have a wonderful Friday!

I have tried Glenna's method on PSP too.

Yep! Glenna's is a handy tip, thats how I first straightened the image using the lines at the bottom, and how I straighten the horizon in my less than great photos. :(
