Interesting, although very, very sad.
So far Gerald Herbert and his group has finished 2 runs each for LaPlace and Terrebonne with more planned. There are however 2 groups of people we're hoping to help specifically. The 1st is the African American community in Ironton where 1 one woman's family has lived there for over 200 years and started as a community of freed slaves. She had a shed with photos that she couldn't get too because it was flipped over and a casket was resting up against it. The 2nd is in hopes that we can help members of the Pointe-au-Chen Indians who lost 18 of their 22 homes.
As I know more, I will keep you posted.
It is Pointe-au-Chien Indian Tribe in the Pointe-aux-Chenes area. We might be related a few tens of thousands of years back.
