The Hampton images look challenging>impossible. And they are. But multicolor smears like that make me smile because there is often so much detail left in the Blue Channel. Basically, the Blue Channel has far less damage and you can use it as a Luminosity layer to bring back the detail. It's not easy, but it's fun. Here's a post from the wayback files. I learned the technique from Hannie.
