I have been trying to hide every year but inevitably someone still remembers.
It has been raining every weekend (and some week days) for a month and I was developing cabin fever. My son asked what I wanted for my birthday and I said I wanted to go to hike on the sand dunes. Sunday, we managed to squeezed in three hours between rains and hiked at two places in the newly anointed Indiana Dunes National Park.
Lake Michigan water level is tied to the record high, 2-1/2 feet above average. At some places along the shoreline the water comes up to the foot of the dunes and it was difficult to walk on the shore without getting feet wet.
