All kinds of problems. Bridge and ps freeze. Have had to restart or shut down frequently. SUCKS!

I had the same problems a year ago and it turned out to be Windows Defender causing that to happen in Photoshop.  On a Mac of course there is no Windows Defender but it may have something to do with a Mac type anti virus program.  If you can, temporarily disable it and see if the problems clear.

Is there anything on a Mac where you can see which programs/services are active and how much processor and memory etc. they use?  (windows calls it taskmanager).

you can try these as well:

-disable automatic video mode nenergy saver settings:
  http://osxdaily.com/2017/01/08/disable-gpu-switching-macbook-pro/

-disable GPU (video card setting)

-update video drivers

-reset Preferences

-3rd plugins, uninstall

You're getting beyond me. It's a Mac Pro 8 core desktop. Should have plenty of muscle.

Wow Kiska! What a nightmare.
Logged in to Adobe and followed that *&^% trail they have and it led to Community Support.
https://helpx.adobe.com/tech-comm-suite/customer-support.html   This link led me to an email address where I was able to get help a couple of years ago.  (  [email protected]  )  Might be worth giving it a try. No more phones.
I am making a list of Hannie's tips for future reference as well and you may also want to check with Apple to see if there are known bugs associated with a recent update. Found this when I searched for Apple + PS CS6
https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/photoshop-and-macosmojave.html   It looks to be about a year old but might be worth a look see.
Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

Yeah. "As long as I can get to Wacom thru system prefs, I really don't need the desk center". So, another screw you.

DO NOT CALL THAT NUMBER. The correct number is 800-833-6687. "Adobe does not provide phone support" for cs products.
