Title: Bride on the porch
Post by: Lynnya on August 10, 2017, 02:48:23 PM
Last two bride pictures... I've color corrected this several times and it comes up a bit yellow.. did a rgb levels, neutral gray in curves...  then pumped up the whites in curves again from 230 something to the 40's... I added a tinge of blue (Hannie sits on my shoulder) - I don't know.. I'm wondering if it was late afternoon sun causing a nice warm light.. what do you think..I reduced the yellow a tad in hue/sat on the third one.. can't see a whole lot of difference but maybe some..?? I just added  forth where I redid black white and gray points and then reduced the opacity of the layer by about 50%... hmmm I think it's better?

Oh my!  :wow:  Let me download and see if I can come up with an idea. Back in a bit.
Hey girl, on your WIP the dress and 2 front pillars have some blown out spots on my monitor. Here's a quickie. The whites are a bit low but with all the white I imagine those numbers will go up as you restore. Maybe this will spark another idea for you. Can't wait to see your next WIP!

Boy you've come a long way. Maybe whiter on the columns?

Lynn, looking good. The only thing that doesn't look right is the bride's train. Do have some other photos showing it? The original is no help.  :)

I'm thinking this is sunlight on the porch, not part of the train... She's holding up the train.

Beautiful Lynn! Excellent job with the sunlight on the porch spot! Teeny pic ... the 3 rd column from the front might benefit from a some smoothing/brightening? Way to go girl!

Better! On your screen, is there a white strip down the 2nd column on the right side?

I think the white stripe is sunlight reflection.

I agree with Hannie. It looks better that way.

I've been staring at this photo for a long time and now I'm crazy too.
I see her holding a dove...  :)

(I'm also not convinced that there is not a piece of cloth on the floor connected to what she is holding up over her arm)

Hannie! I sent her home! I'll ask about the dove and if she is holding one I'll plonk it in.. I did try making that white area on the floor her train and it just didn't work..I'm with Kiska, I think it's light from between the columns.
