De-saturation applied to a duplicate layer prior to fixing the damage. The "blur:average" layer above will add the original sepia color back in when the restore is finished.

Removing larger flaws in the image with the healing brush, and light or dark speckles with the blur tool (lighten/darken)

Hi Robert,

Thanks for posting and showing us what you have done. The original pretty much a mess and so much detail lost, like one of her hands. Good luck and look forward to seeing more as you get further along.

Hi Robert,

Great job, I like how you kept the detail and did not take it so far that it becomes an artist's impression.
You may be able to use her left hand to make it look like her right hand is visible.  I believe that the background was very dark, wonder if that would help?

Hi Robert, looks really great! they may also want a black and white version.. very brave of you to tackle this one  :up:
