Title: Help with getting "sheen" on wedding dress
Post by: nasaman on January 16, 2015, 10:58:17 AM
I need help getting the "sheen" on the restored portion of the lady's wedding dress.

Below is the original

And here is what I have so far

Beautiful restore Nasaman!

You could use a Curves adjustment layer to tone down the highlights in the dress, inverse the layer mask to black and then paint back in some of the toned down highlights.  I would not tone down too much, it seems to me that the Original photo had a fair bit of highlights in the dress?

What you can do also is brighten up the overall shadows in the photo, that way the highlights don't look so out of place.  (bonus is that the blue pants of the groom show their color better)
