Lurch, nice job on the repair! I took yours and made a Level Adjustment by bringing in the sliders in the green and blue channel. It took away some of the reddish cast and lightened it up. If you find it too much you can bring the opacity down. Other than that, I think it looks fine.

Beautiful repairs Lurch!  (there were a lot of stains and blotches)  Like Margie, I think levels adjustment would help the color balance.  What if you lower the contrast and increase the brightness just enough to brighten the photo some?
(it does mean that the the walls will need a little attention then because the blotches will show up more)
