Well I just downloaded this photo and was taking a look at it. The top background is dark. Is that artifact? or is it that the darkness represents shade from an awning or something?

I would think shade. It comes down further on the windows, like shade would.

Well I went with the awning causing shade on the wall and window. Using levels on each channel initially brought back a lot of color. Here is where I am now.

Phil, great job on the repair and on the color correction. I'm good but wondered if there was more of a red cast. However, if this is out in the sun, it may be spot on. Just to tone it down a little, I used the gray dropper in Curves on the cement between the bricks on the left side.
