thanks for all the positive feedback everyone. 

I wasn't quite happy with the 1940 boy's foot, so I tweaked it a little bit... Not sure about shoe size, but I think this looks a bit better than the first version.

 Hi John,

If you do feel the "Boy on Bench" photo is a bit blown out you can boost it a bit by duplicating the image and changing the blend mode of the duped layer to "Multiply"



On this one I then duplicated the Multiply layer again and reduced the opacity to about 34%  This technique works well on badly faded photos, sometimes you may have to duplicate the layer up to a dozen times.
