Hi Everyone,
I've taken this delightful little 3.5x5 photo as far as I know how. The entire surface was covered in a fine layer of sand and dirt and everything I've tried to clean it up beyond what you see in my WIP here seems to result in a flat, painted, artificial look. Please let me know what you think.

Thanks, Pat
Pat, from what I can tell (image is small) your restore looks beautiful and not painted at all!
Hannie
Sorry about the size Hannie, I know it's small. Print size for this photo is 3.5x5 What I was going for was an opinion as to whether or not it is going to be satisfactory at print size. On the forum on my screen it comes out about 4x6, is it smaller than that on your screen? I was fairly happy with it but wanted to be sure because when I view it at "Actual Pixels" I can still see the remains of a great deal of dirt and sand but can't get rid of any more of it without making it look painted and flat. I'm glad you like it. I've re-posted larger below. Thanks.

SEVERAL of the Joplin pics are sized wrong. You can check the actual size in Bridge or Photoshop>Image Size. Should be a 4x6.

Pat, I'm with Hannie. I wouldn't change a thing. GK
I'm so glad you like it Glenna
Thanks to a tip from Jonas regarding pixel level dodge and burn I was able to improve the background. I was also able to clean up the rim of the basket a bit more:
