Just received this thank you from the owner of the 8.5" x 48.5" panoramic recently restored. You can see the restoration process in a discussion on the Forum. http://www.operationphotorescue.org/forum/index.php/topic,4486.0.html
I received the photo. It looks great! The work that you do is a blessing to many people. Houses can be rebuilt, but the memories caught is photos can't be replaced once they're lost. You are bringing much needed comfort to people at a time when they most need it. God bless the good work that you are performing.

It is amazing how something we truly enjoy doing can so profoundly touch the hearts of those facing devastating losses.
Following the restoration thread of this old 1920 panorama was particularly interesting because of the unique challenges of restoring a photo this size. The method used to capture such images during that time period and the significant difference between restoring and retouching photos, particularly those considered to be historical documents, was also discussed.

Thanks for sharing Mike and it's great to hear back from those we helped. Also, thanks to Mike and Pat for printing this panorama on their own printer.
Margie
Thanks, Mike, for posting this. As Margie says, it's always great to hear from folks OPR has helped.
And thanks, too, for going the extra mile and printing this interesting and historical but rather oddly sized photo.
It was fun to work on and good to know the owners like the restoration.
