Just an quick update.  The only information that we were given is the possible unit of our young soldier.  He served in the 527 Engineer Battalion in Louisiana.  Here is a picture of the unit patch and a story of that unit.

Great post all around and so interesting to follow the history and I enjoyed the chance to talk to wife. Plus, it is always so rewarding when they get to see how their photo is progressing.
