Just starting on this beauty... hope I can do it justice.. such a lovely image..color correction only so far. I selected the undamaged area and did a levels adjust on r g and b then curves for gray point using difference method.  Will tweak again near the end.

Thanks Mike and Hannie... I was thrilled to find that the bear was actually a Roosevelt bear.. made it easy to dress and fix his glasses.. I'll send them home.
