I'm new here, so sorry if this has been answered a hundred times before.  In many of the damaged photos in the galleries, especially the older ones,  the entire image is colored with a tint, many times some type of sepia.  If the original was a color photo, but the actual colors can't be determined, what is the best course to take?

Thanks

Sometimes a "color shift" is the result of dyes leaching out of the photo or surrounding photos. It might be adjusted through Curves layers. Each photo is different. But if color is not recoverable, convert to black and white. If a sepia tone is needed, don't do it yourself. Leave that to Quality Control to add. But check with your distributor for his/her recommendation, or post the photo here on the Forum.
