Welcome to Operation Photo Rescue's Volunteer Forum!

Thank you for volunteering for Operation Photo Rescue. In this forum you will be able to meet and interact with other OPR Volunteers from around the globe. Feel free to assist others and provide constructive feedback to those looking for assistance with difficult restorations.

It will be important to make sure that you do not choose a photo restoration that is above your skill level.

Here is how we define 'difficulty levels' for photo restorations:

Easy
Very little damage to any parts of the body. Most of the damage is located in backgrounds or areas of the picture that include very little detail.

Moderate
Some damage to parts of the body, but there’s enough information in other areas to draw from. Very little to none reconstruction of any body parts. More extensive damage to backgrounds and areas other than the main subject of the picture.

Difficult
Extensive damage to the main subject and/or to a majority of the overall image. Faces and body elements would require major reconstruction. Most of the time the reconstructed photo will still show significant damage.

You should be receiving the OPR newsletter by email and if you don't, look in your spam folder. There may be some of you that don't, and that might be the result on trimming our master list by 1,500 names. A lot of those were added in 2009 and 2010 and showed they were not active and were not opening the newsletter. If by accident you got removed and want back on, go to the home page http://www.operationphotorescue.org/ and scroll down and sign up for newsletter.

In the coming days we are going to start a promotion to get more volunteers restoring photos so that we will have most of our backlog down by the time we go on our next copy run the last of August in West Virginia. A really neat gift is in the making. :up:
