 Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I attended a meeting in Moore, Oklahoma of various groups coming together working to  help save photos from the tornado. The gathering was done in the hopes that more could be accomplished working as a team rather than individual groups. I was delighted to meet again Thad Beeler and his group from the National Disaster Photo Rescue (NDPR) in Carthage, Mo that started after the Joplin, MO tornado.  Hosting the meeting was Kristi Brummal, School Manager of Oklahoma School of Photography in Moore, OK. This school is just north of where the tornado hit. Her school is part of an effort to have one central location for damaged recovered from the tornado.

Right now there is a critical need to have volunteers on the ground to gather photos in the debris. You will need to sign up with either NDPR at: http://www.nationaldisasterphotorescue.net/get-involved/volunteer-app-moore-2013/ or Kristi at: http://www.schoolofphotography.edu/  They will also instruct you on the rules to follow so as to not break any laws and to respect owner's property. The need is urgent right now as the city of Moore is planning to clean the area of all debris in 45 days and that could mean a record number of photos are destroyed forever.

Thanks,

Margie
