Title: Easter trio
Post by: karen11554 on January 12, 2020, 04:00:59 PM
Hello,

Almost done with the restoration...older girls shoes are a struggle. Bow on them? And boy's shoes...yellow stripe on them?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Hi Karen,

Welcome to the Forum, great to see your post. The 1st thing that stands out is that the photo needs to be color corrected. All of our photos, especially the latest ones from Baton Rouge are from flooding. Those photos will off because of the flood water.  I don't know if you are working in PhotoShop. If you are, the first thing would be to look in Levels Adjustment and you would see the slider on your right is not touching the black area in the middle. Also, I like to adjust each channel, R,G,B separately. See Screen print below.

Here is a side by side with your restore and you will see that the girl's leggings are white as is the boy's shirt--a little blown out. The boy's shoes are white and the blue across one shoe is ink that had migrated across. I would take the bow off the one girl's shoe not part of the original. The details in the original are not good, but since the leggings (lacy) and shoes are white you won't have much detail, but that is okay.  You are doing a good job on damage control, especially on cleaning up the girl's legs. You will get better with each photo. Below is the contrast with the color correction done to the original. Look forward to your progress. Click on the photo for a larger view.
