Hey everyone,

Just when you thought you've heard enough about our adventures in Biloxi, I hit you with yet another news story. This one is from the only news source  that has all of their facts straight about OPR ... The Free Lance-Star, which is the paper I work for. The reporter, Rusty Dennen, came along with us on this trip and the story includes several photos by Mike Morones, OPR's Secretary and FLS staff photographer: http://fredericksburg.com/News/FLS/2007/082007/08292007/311926

Nice write up!

Ah HA!  Now I know what Glenna looks like!

Kurt

P.S.  However, there's an inaccuracy:  It says that the photos are restored by "1,200 photographers worldwide".

What an awesome article...I had already guessed that was Glenna because in one of the photos she is writing in her journal..

That is a great article. I can almost see this becoming a lifelong organisation with the recent floods over there.

Kurt you're right. All volunteers shouldn't have been classified as photographers. I should have caught that before the story went to print.

Anyway, here's another link: http://www.pdnonline.com/pdn/newswire/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003632964

Photo District News (PDN) was one of the first publications to report on OPR. Today, as part of their Katrina anniversary coverage, they did a follow-up Q&A with me.

Amen! I hope too with the publicity that more financial assistance will come OPR's way.

I didn't catch the PDN link until tonight when I brought it up. I know this is online, but will it also be in an upcoming issue? I take this magazine and think it is great and there is the added bonus that it is available at bookstores nationally. I really feel that it is only a matter of time before OPR gets the recognition it deserves. I also hope that those of us who are new comers can help share the load so that the rest of you don’t burn out.
