Hey all,

We wrapped up an exhausting but emotionally exhilerating three days of gathering photos today.  It was a truly humbling experience, and the appreciation expressed by the owners of the photos we collected was overwhelming.  We saw many people shed tears as they went thru their storm damaged photos, and we often shed tears with them.  When we hear stories about how the wedding album was found 6 blocks from home, or they were cleaning the yard and they found their cherished photos under all of the debris, I feel very priviledged to be a part of an organization that is giving these families something back.

The families we helped were all very generous with bringing us sweets today.  We had donuts, cookies, including chocolate chip cookies that Angela made (thanks Angela...they were GREAT!  I love it!  We also received a box of a local sweet that I can't remember the name of, but it was a southern treat.

We all drove down to Pass Christian after finishing up with our photos, only to find the restaurant we wanted to eat at closed.  The drive down the coastal highway was very, very interesting to see, as we saw lots and lots of large lots with nothing but a concrete foundation.  There is a lot of construction going on, but a lot remains in disrepair from the storm.  I'm hoping to get lots of photos over the next two days.

We took a group photo at the end of the day today, and I hope we can get that up and in the forum soon.

It definitely sounds like a very emotionally charged experience and how wonderful to meet all the people that we are trying to help...I know I would have been in tears as just reading what has been written so far has pulled at my heart strings...so you all being there I know what you all must be feeling...

Drive safely on your way home and looking forward to seeing the photos..
