I'm happy to announce that OPR is making another copy-run to the Gulfcoast in late August. Our plan is to work in the Biloxi, MS area from Thursday, August 23 through Saturday, August 25.

Anyone, wishing to help out on this trip should contact me at volunteer@operationphotorescue.com.

How exciting is that!  I've already contacted Dave directly, but I'm going to post another request early.  I want to make this trip, and I'm wondering if any volunteers in the Tampa Bay area would be interested in joining me.  If so, please e-mail me at glennab@tampabay.rr.com

Tess & Sanbie --

This is a time when we REALLY need that magic poofer!  (It's been an ongoing joke -- my husband started it years ago, because he builds the most beautiful model cars -- custom-built, because he actually fabricated full-size race cars and street rods for a living a long time ago.  He always contended that if we had a "poofer" we could make the cars our size and drive a new hot rod every day.)  So I'd wish for a poofer to get you guys from one side of the world to the other and we could have an OPR convention and copy run.  Whoo hoo!

Biloxi - pronounced Buluxi   LOL  had such pretty beaches and I use to love to play Fooshball with my new husband, in an arcade on the beach.   Enjoy

I would like to help out.  I have emailed Dave, and waiting to hear back.  What needs to be done?

Jan,

I'm still trying to hammer out details, while still being on vacation. I'll be back this weekend and I'll get back to everyone that has volunteered to help out.

For everyone waiting to hear from me in regards to the Biloxi trip,

Last night we had a series of thunderstorms that made power and Internet access very limited. And today, is my first day back at work after vacation, so I'm way behind already.

I will try to get you all more details by this evening.

Dave,
I was excited at the prospect of joining you to help. I had lined up my siblings to care for my Dad but Tuesday morning he had a fall and seems to be having a rapid decline. He has conjestive heart failure but he is 89 and feels he has had a great life. He is currently being assessed at our Hospice inpatient facility and I guess we will know in a couple of days if he will be able to come home and what to expect.

All in all it seems like a bad time to plan to be away.

Sorry, maybe there will be a next time when I can drive over and help.

Ruth,

You have a more important role to fill at home. No apologies necessary. We'll keep you and your dad in our thoughts. Good luck.
