Hi  Admin and Volunteers --

I'm almost embarrassed to have so many posts on the forum, but I wanted to make 900 special, so this missive is to let all of you know how much you mean to me.

I'll never get over my admiration for Dave, Becky, Angela, Mike and John for diving into what I'm sure has become an entity that you'd not have predicted would be where it is after a little more than a year.  And I must add Christine, because even though you're not a founder, you've done an incredible job of keeping the work flowing as chief co-ordinator.

I was so excited to join when I read the plea for OPR volunteers on the NAPP online newsletter.  Not once have I been disappointed or sorry I joined.  It's a joy to do what I can for people who took such a devastating hit with Katrina. And it's even more wonderful to share this effort with people from all over the world.

I consider all the volunteers wonderful friends, especially the ones who spend time on the forum helping the rest of us get through restorations the likes of which I'd wager none of us has seen or worked on before.  (It would be fun to go through the forum and quote everyone who's said "It looked easy until I downloaded it!")

I've had the good fortune of having been contacted personally by some of the OPR crew and am especially grateful for their communication and friendship.  May it last forever!

A wonderful aspect of our forum lately is participation by so many of our talented "newbies."  You're the best for jumping in and making the forum an even richer experience than it was before you arrived!

I'm also gratified that whenever I'm on the forum the Users Online list is usually close to or more than 10.  Word's out!

This may be a stretch for those of you who've put up with my ramblings all this time, but I'm a bit of a loner, because I have very little in common with most people, and I'm picky about my friends.  I can get along with anyone, but I choose to spend a good portion of my time in my little house with my best friend (that would be my husband!) and my 12 obnoxious fur-butts.  (As Lon [hubby] says, be it ever so crumbled, there's no place like home!)

Please accept my thanks for being part of the most enriching and engrossing endeavor I've experienced in my long, interesting and busy life!

Light, love and hugs,

Glenna

Glenna, I love it!

congrats on your 900th! I can't imagine the forum without you. You always make the time and effort to give feedback to all of us. It would not fell right for me to send a restored picture back without any input from you. And I really like reading what you are writing, you sure have talent and should work for a news paper or write a book. I'm serious and I'm also envious, because I'm German and find it hard to express myself in a foreign language ( thank god for the spell checker ). Keep posting Glenna!

Thanks, Gerlinde

I gathered that you're from Deutchland, but your English is exemplary.  I lived in Germany for 3 years and studied the language -- actually got quite into it, but that was so long ago that Ich habe fiele meine Deutche fergessen.  (is that even remotely correct?)

Yep, I guess it's apparent that I love to write. I gear up and do letters to the editor once in a while, and I've always written for everyone with whom I've worked over the years.  I wrote a letter to my boss after he cut my hours that was one of my best; brutally honest, but in a nice way. Sorta.  Kinda.

I'd love to write a book.  Will have to consider that.  How about "Let Me Count the Ways My Husband Has Offered to Free Our House of Cats?"  Nahhhh.  Too gruesome!

I appreciate your kind words.  And I'm too addicted to OPR to not keep on posting. Thanks for being my pal!

Hugs!
