Hi there ... I was just getting ready to list this Canon BJC-8500 on Craigslist for sale when I thought about OPR ... I thought that I would ask here first to see if this fantastic pro quality photo printer could be of any use to the organization
This isn't some cheapo bubble-jet from Best Buy ... this is a $2500 lab quality photo printer that will print photos up to 13x19" ... here's a little info on it -->
http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_zdpcm/is_200011/ai_ziff4102Here's one of the places that sells them, they are still a current model and are in demand - they also have all of the supplies for it (along with a LOT of other printer supply places), which are very easy to come by, and not overly expensive ... this doesn't use any bizarre ink cartridges that you have to special order - it's all common and super easy stuff - here's that link -->
http://www.databazaar.com/Inkjet_Cartridge/Product/Printers_CNM20155648.htmlI am SO proud of the work that everyone is doing here, and I have been really trying to get in there and help out myself, but health problems have made it hard for me to commit the time that I want to - but don't count me out - I'm still going to put in as much time and effort as I can ... but in the mean time, if this printer can be of use, I would be willing to donate it to OPR instead of selling it
It doesn’t currently have any ink, but there is an ebay auction with
10 brand new and full ink cartridges for $28 here -->

I'm not looking for a tax write off or anything like that, just a genuine desire to help out, especially since I haven't been able to put in a lot of my time so far like I had originally planned to when I joined
I've seen AMAZING photos come off of this printer - really, National Geographic quality stuff, so I know that it will be suitable for our work (if it’s even needed) ... I know that it might not be the newest model, or the cutting edge technology (it doesn’t have a spoiler or racing stripes), but there is no doubt that it is 100% professional grade and is still used by a lot of photo labs and camera shops to make a huge profit with
So ... if someone there can look over the specs, and decide if it's even something that would be of use - I would like you to get back to me so I can decide the fate of this printer ... honestly, I'm not going to use it myself, so it isn't going to be a big loss to me ... let me know
My feelings won't be hurt in any way if it won't be of any use (for all I know, it’s junk compared to what we are currently using) – but I figured that a printer with a capability of printing 13x19” lab quality prints could come in handy, so I would ask … not like many people have photos that big, but you never know
Message me, I’ll be watching for a reply … ANYONE with printing knowledge can reply to me, I would love to know if this is something that’s worth while to pursue
Thanks
Chris
