Hey everyone,

I just wanted to pass along that we are still getting attention out there. Here's a link to the latest: http://www.sunherald.com/mld/sunherald/news/columnists/kate_magandy/16969525.htm

Hi Dave

Thanks for sharing the article.  I noticed the reference to The Picture Project, so I took a tour of part of their site.  Have we been able to hook up with them in any way?  There are so many photos that we could restore.  I understand that The Picture Project only returns the photos as is, but doesn't do anything to them.  Seems to me we'd make a great team!

At any rate, it's wonderful that OPR is getting press.  The more the better!

Have a wonderful day.

We've been in touch with the Picture Project people. We're trying to work out some form of a partnership with them, but they are in the middle of trying to become a non-profit so we're in a bit of a holding pattern for the moment.

We have taken one step towards teaming up...

If someone recognizes their photos on the Picture Project site, but the photo is damaged, the Picture Project admin will get the family and the photos in touch with us. So we won't be restoring any and all of the damaged photos, we will help out the claimed ones. We are just fearful of spending so much time restoring a photo that will never find it's home...

Ang - That certainly makes sense to me.  My concern was that people might not even claim the photos if they didn't think they could be restored.  Maybe the Picture Project web site could have a statement on their home page about what OPR does, so they won't give up on photos we could fix for them.  I saw some that were completely beyond anything we could do, but many were just scratched or had the typical damage that we see in our challenges.  Even though they looked pretty bad, folks might not know that they can be brought back to the original condition -- or darn close.

Hi Ang & Dave!

As I was looking through the OPR galleries this evening, I could swear I saw some of the same photos I'd looked at on the Photo Project site.  Does that mean we're working with them now?
