We've had some recent press inquiries from organizations looking to talk with OPR volunteers from Georgia(US) or Australia. If you are a volunteer who fits either of these categories and wish to speak with these organizations. Please let me know.

As OPR volunteers, no one is obligated to speak to the press on behalf of the organization. However, every opportunity that we get to spread the word should be taken advantage of.

Thanks.

Hi Dave,

I would be happy to participate if it will help support OPR, every bit of publicity helps.

I presume they will fly us to the US all expenses Paid for the interview? Too Funny

Maybe it would even feed back to Aust, and generate some interest, after Cyclone Larry struck Innisfail, in North Queensland last year, I twice contacted the local Innisfail Newspaper, The Innisfail Advocate, regarding doing something similar, and suggesting they could contact OPR, as we may be able to do the work if they could gather the images.
Unfortunately on both occasions they chose not to reply, or apparently take any action, it can be hard work stirring people into action at times.

Dave,

I would not mind talking to someone in Georgia but I am so new that I don't feel comfortable with giving them a lot of detail.   I live about 45 miles south of Atlanta.  I will be glad to contact anybody here in Georgia if I can be of help.

Or if Max is going to Georgia may be I can go to Australia.  Too Funny

Hi David G.

I just wanted to add my welcome to Christine's.  It's so great that we're still getting new members.  How did you hear about OPR?

And Max, with your dedication and wonderful sense of humor you'd be a perfect spokes-Australian for the organization.

Glad we're getting inquiries.

Have a great week, everyone!

Thanks for the words of welcome.  Smiley

I heard about PhotoRescue on this Photoshop Elements web site http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com.  I enjoy restoring photos. So I thought this would be a great opportunity to do something worthwhile and improve my skills.

I have registered on PhotoShelter.  How do I go about getting photos to play with (restore)?   Smiley    I think I would like to start off with a couple of easy ones and work my way up to more difficult ones.

I may need a little hand holding until I figure out your procedures.  I try to use the FAQs and look at other people's questions.  But sometimes, I need a "where do I go from here" type of advice.  Huh?

David,

What you do is login to Photoshelter, then go to the galleries for Becky or Mike, depending on which one is your group.  Then leave a comment on the photo or photos you want to restore. Then you will be invited (sent a link) via e-mail to download the full-res file from Photoshelter.  It's explained more thoroughly here:

Hi David

Don't worry about needing "hand-holding." These are tough restorations, and few of us were prepared to deal with the degree of damage involved.  I'm definitely one of them!  Any of us who want or need feedback just post our work-in-progress and either ask for general suggestions or ask specific questions and someone will jump in to help.

I think you're on Becky's team, and for some reason she seems to have more of the easy to moderate offerings than the rest of us get.  I've had to really stretch my Photoshop skills to get through these challenges. I think you'll find the rewards of doing this work is worth every minute you spend on it.  I know I'm a happy camper, no matter how tough the restoration!

Hey all,
I just received an email about the Alanta Journal Consitutuion interview.  Although, I started out way back when (I found out about OPR through DPChallenge.com),  I haven't been too active as of late.  But if you are having trouble finding someone in the area, I'll be happy to volunteer.   Just let me know.  I'm sure there is probably a more active member that would like to take it on though.

I'll try to get back here somtime in the very near future.  Unfortunately, life gets busy sometimes.  Undecided

Keep up the great work guys!  We're Not Worthy!
