OPR, specifically this forum, got a mention in the recent podcast of PhotoShop TV. If you want to check it out, you can see it here: http://www.photoshoptv.com/

You can watch the episode throught the website, iTunes, or your iPod. Be forwarned, OPR is mentioned only briefly near the end of the 33 minute episode.

The mention has already done some good. Since it was posted on Monday, requests to volunteer have been re-energized.

dave it is neat that they mentioned opr. by the way for those who do not want to watch all of it even though  they have a ton of good tips about photoshop, you can push the play bar up to about 32:00 and it will be mentioned.  since i am a member of NAPP i get to watch all those broadcasts for free, i think they charge for the older ones..about 1.99.

Yep, that's how I found OPR from Kelby's show and I'm just about finished with photo #2.  I just started poking around the forum here to see what assistance & info is available. I'm quite impressed with the cast of retouchers that are here from around the globe. And their work is quite amazing. And nice job putting this forum & the OPR site together too. (Gee, there's even a spell checker).

This is also how I found out about OPR

The episode you want to look for is Episode 53 - October 30th.

They publish podcasts on http://www.photoshopguys.com/wp-rss2.php and you may be able to still view this one if you are interested.  The episodes are usually around 30 mins (100mb) and published most Mondays.  I subscribed via ITunes (its free)  There are endless podcasts out there on photoshop - a great resource.

Good to see OPR getting some publicity like this, unfortunately I don't get to watch many videos, they use too much of my limited bandwidth, plus my speed is to slow.

It can be hard to promote something like OPR at times, I have posted in several forums about the work being done by OPR and in both cases had one reply, saying it sounded like a good idea, even though these sites are loaded with those touting their PS skills, perhaps it no longer seems relevant, Katrina was over a year ago, after all!

That said something must be working, note the number of new members. only a couple of weeks ago I was musing that at 365 members we had one for each day of the year, now we have 459, Wow! Thumbs Up v.2

Just imagine the S**t fight when we get some new photos, the distribution people are going to be as busy as a "one armed paperhanger" Cheesy

Keep up the good work.

Max

PS: I put in for one of the last two photos a couple of days ago, give Mike a bit of a poke will you. Bat

If OPR's looking for more volunteers, I'm sure a post on craigslist.org from time to time would inspire others to check us out. A listing & link could be posted in either their Volunteer section or maybe the News section. I'd be happy to post such a blurb for the Los Angeles area.
