Hi Dave

I'm dying to know how the auction went.  You probably need a few days to recover, and are most likely back at work, but when you're up to it, please let us know.

Best wishes,

GG

Hopefully they're trying to dig out of a big pile of cash! Smiley

It's late in coming, but there's finally a blog update with a little more info about the fundraiser. Sorry for the delay, but in the Ellis household we've all taken a turn being sick during the last week and we also had to pull off a birthday party for our 2-year-old son, Jack.

But enough of the excuses, you can catch the blog update at www.operationphotorescue.com/blog.

Hi Dave

Congrats on a successful auction.  I wish we could all have been there, too.  I think John & I would have had to battle over Lewis Black.  That would have been fun!

And I'd so love to meet my pals in OPR. People don't get any better than the volunteers in this organization.

And happy birthday wishes to Jack!  What a wonderful age.  I hope you have time to enjoy him, because he'll grow up so quickly!

Best wishes always!

Hi Dave

It's always good to read your blogs. Be as prolific as you want (or at least can be)!  What a wonderful endowment.  I very much appreciated Herblock's political cartoons, but had no idea he championed the less fortunate.

I believe OPR is going to receive many gifts of that sort as word gets around about what we do. I hope you're basking in the good that's come from your original wonderful idea.  You're probably too modest for that, but you've sent a lot of positive vibes into the world, and we're all the richer for it.

I don't mean to be gushy, but I get so sick of people who say "Something should be done" and then sit on their butts and watch TV and expect someone else to take the initiative. You're the person they're waiting for.

I've been there too on a much, much smaller scale when I rescued the neighborhood stray cats.  Everyone complained, but no one would do anything about it. I mention that only because I'm aware of the fact that once you throw yourself into the vortex of an issue because no one else will, you're taken over by something that has a life of its own.  I can tell that you get overwhelmed - a job, a wonderful wife, a small child - AND OPR.  Gads!

........!.0..(Aaron Nevville, my black cat, says Hi - or I guess that's what he meant to say when he attacked the keyboard)

I just want you to know I think you're a person of rare substance and deserve to be acknowledged as such.

As always, my very best to you.
