Hello everybody.
I came across this organisation in a Photoshop magazine and curiosity got the better of me.
After seeing the video of what people go through in storms i cant deny it did bring tears to my eyes of their loss.
I know you all hear England's wet and cloudy but we just do not see that kind of storm damage.
I am honored and privileged to be able to help these people and hope I can do some good.

Thanks for giving me this opportunity to help.

Hi PIERCED6966 from dry Kansas at the present. It's always great to have volunteers from all over as it makes for some fun and interesting conversations. Hope to see more of you on the forum and post your photo if you want some friendly help.

Thanks for volunteering.

Welcome, PIERCED6966!

My husband and I were in London several years ago and the weather was beautiful.

It’s wonderful to have you join us, and I hope you will enjoy meeting your fellow volunteers on the forum.  Some of us (not mentioning any names here; you’ll find out soon enough) tend to get a little wild and zany from time to time but it’s all in good fun.

The gift of your time and talent is much appreciated.

Hi  PIERCED6966 and welcome to the forum from warm and sunny Amsterdam!

It has been a while ago but even England had it's share of flooding.  In 1953 over 300 people lost their live and hundreds more were lost at sea hen a terrible storm hit Europe.  30.000 people were evacuated.  It lead to the program (sea defense) the Thames Barrier.
In the Netherlands part of the country flooded, 1800 people died and hundreds of thousands lost their homes.  (we now have the Delta Works to protect us from the sea)

A warm welcome PIERCED6966,

I have been to Birmingham, England several times and the weather was very nice.  Including one January it was Sunny and 18C (about 64F).  The people in the UK have always been extremely nice.

Welcome to OPR, I appreciate you joining.

Welcome to OPR  Pierced6966 from southwestern Ohio near Cincinnati, Ohio. While I have never been to England I have been to parts of Europe bordering on the Mediterranean twice courtesy  of the U. S. Navy.

It is always rewarding to see a damaged photo go home looking like new or at least close to it.

Pat, I got in serious trouble with Hannie when I made a similar comment a few weeks ago. Remember I am the one who proposed sanity pills. Pierced6966 you will understand that last comment more as you get a few restores under your belt.

Johnboy, don't think for one minute that tattletaling on Pat will get you off the hook!
It just means I now have to keep a close watch on Pat also!   Bat
