Hi everyone, I'm new the group and really excited and honored to be a part of it.  I have attached my work in progress and would welcome any feedback.  In particular I am wondering about the whites of their clothes.  Looking at the original I first thought there was some sort of lace pattern but after making color adjustments it looks more like damage now.  Same goes for the glass up top.  I first thought there was shadowing from trees outside but now I'm not so sure.

Thanks,

Tara

Hi Tara,

Welcome to OPR and looks like you picked trial by fire on your first restore. What you thought was a pattern is water damage and it is all over unfortunately. Take a look at Mike S photo of the bride and groom: http://www.operationphotorescue.org/forum/index.php/topic,3425.msg30910/topicseen.html#new

I'm not sure about the bridesmaid's dresses on the color as I am showing a light yellow. Also, I'm not sure about the men's shirts. I will send an email to the brides mother and see if I can get more information.

The variation you see on the stain glass is damage and not shadows.

Keep posting and we will help you and also get more info for you. Kudos for taking on this one!

Hello All, attached  is my latest with this picture.  Just wanted to say thanks again to Margie for the help.  I looked at the picture Mike did (beautiful job) and also saw another one of their wedding pictures in the piece on this family in the Joplin Journal section.  Based on those two I could tell the mens shirts and ties were white.  The women's dresses remain a bit of a mystery to me.  The girl down front seems to have a light pink sash around her waist so I'm not sure if they are wearing light pink dresses, yellow dresses (as Margie thought may have been the case), or white.  Any feedback/critique would be most welcome.

Thanks,

Tara (the newbie)
