Hello Everyone,

I'm Helen from Barnet London I've just joined today. I'm existed to participate and help others with their photos. I love vintage photos and have a greater interest in colourizing vintage black and white photos to bring them to life.

All the best

Hi Helen and a warm welcome to the OPR family of volunteers.  We are so glad you have decided to join us!  Because there are not many photos in the galleries to restore right now this is a great time to take the opportunity to review some of the past forum posts for tips and techniques that have been shared over time.  By the way they can be bookmarked for easy future reference.  You’ll find it is a wonderful place to get help when you run into difficulties with a restoration.  And you’ll also discover we all have a great sense of humor – just check out the recent “Question about photo” post:    http://www.operationphotorescue.org/forum/index.php/topic,3300.msg29762.html#msg29762

The Tool Bar is a fun place to interact with and learn a bit about your fellow volunteers.  Check out the “What’s your hobby?” topic:  http://www.operationphotorescue.org/forum/index.php/topic,3090.0.html and the “What was your first job?” topic:   http://www.operationphotorescue.org/forum/index.php/topic,3099.0.html

I think you’ll enjoy it here.  The work is very rewarding as Lurch says but be warned it’s also very addictive!

Welcome Helen to the insane OPR. That is the only way we can keep sane especially with the choices presently in the galleries. More will be coming in a few months in the mean time join in the fun. You will find more stuff like this in the back pages in the Tool Bar. Just pull up a stool and have some fun.

Pat, your reference to "Question about photo" and saying "we all have a great sense of humor" I just had to check it out. Thanks for mentioning it otherwise I would have missed the fun.

Thanks everyone for welcoming me. I am looking forward to do my first project. I just love old photos and have a great interest in restoring and colourizing them also to participate and helping others the best I can.

I must say I am a bit lost of where to find photos to restore I can't wait to get started.  Embarrassed

I am looking forward to meet great friends in the forum.

Hi Helen,

Welcome to OPR! We look forward to seeing you on the forum and it can be confusing at first with the galleries and the process, but you will feel at ease after awhile.
