The guy on the far left, his hat looks unnatural to me.
and the lower left background looks bad to me as well.
What can I do to make the hat look more natural.

Kate,

The guy's hat was very strange in the original and I don't see that there was damage there.  Maybe his thing was to wear two hats, one on top of the other!  I wouldn't worry about it, it might be something that whoever has it really counts on -- you know, "I got Samie wearing the two hats finally", picture.

I like how you got the lower guys to lighten up finally -- did you use a gradient to do that?
